In 2004 the Pere Tarrés Foundation was awarded its first quality system certification for Occupational Training in the Training department. Since then, other areas have been certified independently, such as the Pere Tarrés Youth Hostel and Educational Services.
The Management of the Pere Tarrés Foundation, seeing the opportunities and improvements that a quality system would bring, implemented the goal to unify all the quality systems introduced until then into one, as part of the 2007-2010 Strategic Plan. This challenge was achieved in 2010, and the Pere Tarrés Foundation was given the ISO 9001:2008 certification by the company TÜV Rehinland.
The audited processes guarantee the quality of Pere Tarrés Foundation's essential services, such as the Pere Tarrés Youth Hostel, training for jobs by the Training area, and Educational Services. They also guarantee the quality of strategic and support processes made up of the Technical Services, Communications, Financial Management and Human Resources.
It is essential to guarantee the quality of a non-profit organisation like the Pere Tarrés Foundation, which provides services to more than 230,000 people every year.
After implementing the integrated system, the Pere Tarrés Foundation has decided to foster ongoing improvement and to include new processes into the system.
