Impact of the Pere Tarrés Foundation on society
We work to change realities
At the Pere Tarrés Foundation, we support people throughout their lives with educational and social projects that make a real impact. We are a transformative organization that provides educational, social, and training services to children, young people, families, caregivers, seniors, as well as to schools and other organizations.

Who are we accompanying?
Our reason for being is people. We foster their holistic development throughout all stages of life, from childhood to old age, and across various fields of social action to create educational and social opportunities.
Children
We work to generate significant changes in parenting models from early childhood in about thirty daycare centers and continue this transformative vision in the out-of-classroom educational programs we develop in schools across the country, as well as in the hundreds of day camps and colonies that each summer mobilize nearly 40,000 children and young people. Meanwhile, we continue to address diversity and vulnerability through our network of socio-educational centers, where more than 7,000 children from families in social risk situations participate daily.
Adolescents and young people
The weekly activities of the Foundation's 200 MCCEC youth centers bring together several generations of children and young people: 24,000 participants throughout the school year, with annual mass gatherings such as TrocaJove. We also train the young people who will be tomorrow's social professionals at our Pere Tarrés Faculty. Finally, we coordinate youth participation projects and support programs for young people and adolescents in various municipalities across the country, and we manage housing where we welcome young migrants without a family network.
Families
Each year, more than 9,000 people enjoy the "Marxem en família" program at our network of camps. We also address the needs of families with workshops to promote positive parenting in our socioeducational centers and with training sessions for non-professional caregivers responsible for caring for their dependent family members.
Elderly people
Combating ageism and promoting active, healthy aging are the main objectives of our initiatives for older adults, such as the University Program for Older Adults (PUGG), the BenestArt program, and the "Plug into Technology" series of workshops and training sessions.
Community
Our educational vision always has a community focus, and that's why we also run community transformation and public space revitalization programs, aiming to prevent neighborhood conflicts and to promote coexistence in collaboration with other neighborhood spaces.
Cross-cutting action throughout the territory
Our work spans the entire territory of Catalonia and the Spanish State. We also carry out international projects in collaboration with various federations and organizations around the world.
Catalonia
Our headquarters is at 149 Numància Street in Barcelona, but we have delegations in the Tarragona region and in Central Catalonia, and we carry out transformation projects throughout the territory.
Our scout federation brings together about 200 scout centers in the dioceses of Barcelona, Lleida, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Solsona, Tarragona, Terrassa, Tortosa, Urgell, Vic, and Girona, and we also coordinate or manage a network of 103 socio-educational centers throughout Catalonia, which 8,295 children participate in throughout the year.
We also have 16 colony houses and hostels distributed throughout the territory, from the Montsià to La Cerdanya, and we develop specific training and social and educational programs in numerous municipalities in the Catalan regions.
Spain
Throughout the country, we have a permanent delegation in the Balearic Islands. In the Mallorcan town of Bunyola, we manage a camp house, and in both Mallorca and Menorca we have several social projects underway aimed at children and families in vulnerable situations. In addition, 11 of the clubs from our MCECC groups carry out their activities in various municipalities in Mallorca and Menorca.
In 2000, we opened La Inmaculada in Madrid, a university residence with an educational and youth focus. Throughout the country, we also offer numerous training programs in social action and educational leisure, especially in e-learning formats and consulting projects.
International
Beyond the Spanish State, the Foundation is part of international entities and federations to develop joint projects, such as the Bureau International Catholique de l'Enfance (BICE), the International Federation of Youth Hostels (IYHF), the International Federation of Catholic Parish Action Movements (FIMCAP), or the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC).
Parallel to this, the Pere Tarrés Faculty has work agreements with about sixty social entities and international universities to carry out research projects and to offer its students training and the opportunity to undertake cooperative internships in various countries.
