Grants for summer camps and play schemes

Situations of poverty and social vulnerability make it difficult for children to access activities that provide education through leisure. To ensure equality of opportunity, the Pere Tarrés Foundation makes grants to thousands of children in vulnerable situations so that they also have the chance to go to summer camps and play schemes.

THANKS to donations and support from society, in 2025 we have made it possible for 7.146 boys and girls in vulnerable situations to receive grants to go to holiday camps and centres and have the chance to get to know new surroundings, do activities in natural settings, acquire healthy habits and make new friends, with all their main meals covered.

RESULTS SUMMER 2025

Study on the living conditions of the beneficiary families of the 2024 summer scholarships

The vulnerable situation of people who apply for scholarships every year so that their sons and daughters can enjoy leisure activities in the summer remains in a critical situation after several years of crisis. The annual report of the Pere Tarrés Foundation on the living conditions of the families that have received grants in summer indicates a worrying chronicity of vulnerability.

“What we like best is making new friends, taking part in the night games and swimming in the pool. The holiday centre workers are very friendly. We go on these trips every year, as much as we can!”

Karam and Rayan, aged 13

“I am writing to send you a huge thank you for making it possible for my daughters Nicole and Paola to enjoy unforgettable camps. They arrived home very happy, with many new experiences, and they asked me if they could go again next year. I'm sure they'll always remember them”

Carolina, mother of two girls receiving grants

“Jan and Nil have had a fantastic time. To start with they weren’t entirely convinced about going on the trip but they’ve ended up saying they’d have liked to stay a couple of days more. We’d like to give you our heartfelt thanks, because without this initiative of yours my children wouldn’t have been able to have this experience. For us, that’s priceless!”

Maica, mother of two children with grants

“When our children can go to a summer play scheme, their parents get a rest and some peace and quiet. In the case of Roger, a very restless boy, imagine the peace of mind of knowing he can go somewhere where he’ll be stimulated and where he can do and share creative activities, all within his level of capabilities. Thank you very much, Pere Tarrés Foundation, for all your efforts”
