The Sant Marçal holiday home is located in the county of L’Alt Penedès, in the province of Barcelona, between El Penedès and El Garraf, in the old rectory of Sant Marçal del Penedès, attached to the town church. It is surrounded by open spaces and the wine-growing and fruit-tree landscapes typical of this rural county.
Sant Marçal is designed to host groups that need a house with the possibility to use and enjoy the kitchen. Ideal for families and groups of families with children, groups of friends and leisure centres.
It contains rooms with 4 to 12 beds, a kitchen, a living room, a games room and a pool. In addition, the house is surrounded by a large open area, and right in back there are woods for enjoying nature, a pool and the town athletic area.
Sant Marçal is quite near to a number of sites, such as the Torres Family Winery or the Wine Museum in Vilafranca del Penedès, which could make for great day trips. The house is also close to El Vendrell, the home town of Pau Casals, and the wetlands of the Foix Natural Park. The castle of Castellet, in Castellet i la Gornal, is also an interesting space to visit.
There are a ton of walks perfect for taking as a family: to Muntanyans, just 30 minutes away; to the spring of Tessu, 10 minutes away; to the spring of Cal Rabella, 20 minutes away; 30 to 50 minutes away there is the spring of Ca l’Olivella, the spring of Cal Noya and the spring of Cal Morgades; the Romanesque church of Castellví can be reached in an hour. If you like biking, don’t miss the trail La Bleda - Castell de Marmellar.
Other places to visit and enjoy both the mountain and the beach are El Castellet (Foix wetlands and Romanesque church), 9 km away; Coma-ruga (beach), 18 km away; Vilafranca (Wine Museum, Saturday market), 10 km away; El Vendrell (Guimerà Museum, Pau Casals Museum, Sant Salvador beach), 15 km away; Santa Oliva (caves), 10 km away, or Sitges, 20 km away.
The Pau Casals Museum contains collections and exhibitions of diverse sculptures, paintings, musical instruments, photographs, autographs, furniture and more of the musician’s personal objects. Pau Casals has been considered one of the most talented cellists of the 20th century. His grand contribution to the world of music was innovation in cello playing.
You can also go all the way to the Foix wetlands, a reservoir pertaining to the river Foix, created by a dam located in the municipality of Castellet i la Gornal, in the county of L’Alt Penedès, close to El Garraf county border. If you come to the county of L’Alt Penedès, make sure to visit the Mont Carçal caves, found inside a historic masia (country house) which dates back to the 14th century, located in the heart of El Penedès county.

Renfe, Vilafranca line; get off in Els Monjos. Walk along the old N-340 road, towards La Ràpita, until km 292.1 (about 3 km). Take the road off to the right that leads to Sant Marçal. Follow the entire road until you reach the town (about 3.5 km). Sant Marçal is 7 km from Els Monjos. From the station in Els Monjos, it is possible to rent a coach to reach the house. From Barcelona to Vilafranca del Penedès along the N-340 road or A-2 highway. Continue along the N-340 road (at km 1,206), by way of the relief roads of Vilafranca and Santa Margarida i els Monjos, until La Múnia and Sant Marçal exit. Leave the detour that leads to La Múnia and continue on to Sant Marçal. The holiday home is next to the church.
