Barcelona is finally starting to feel the cold, and ice skating is one of the best activities to do in the city at this time of year.
A fun, pocket-friendly activity, that’s sure to delight everyone with its fun falls and lots of laughs.
Here are our favourite places to ice skate in Barcelona:
L'Illa Diagonal Ice Rink
Located in L'Illa Diagonal Shopping Centre is one of the few ice rinks that intentionally opens at Christmas. Skating on this Barcelona ice rink is a magical experience, just like the city itself.
The rink is installed right in the middle of the shopping centre, in the outdoor area next to the patios, and is a great family activity. Open from 29 November to 20 December, and from 21 December to 12 January. Adults and children alike will love skating here.
Interested? Let us tell you about some other skating rinks!
Barça Skating Club and Ice Rink
Here you can enjoy a spot of ice skating all year round.
The Skating Club is located in the centre of Barcelona (calle Roger de Flor), and is the perfect place to have some fun on skates. It's open every day of the week, so you can go and practise your spins and pirouettes anytime.
There's also the option of visiting one of Barcelona’s most iconic skating rinks, with real Barça soul!
Right at the base of Camp Nou and Palau Blaugrana, you can go and show off your skating skills at a really affordable price.
Please note: Although it's open every day of the week, they often reserve space for training and competitions for the local ice skating and figure skating teams.
Finally, you'll need to travel a little to reach this last ice rink, but we promise it'll be worth it! You can reach the neighbouring city, l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, via either subway or RENFE train.
Kaliu Park is a recreational space located in the La Farga shopping centre. It boasts one of the largest ice rinks in Europe.
Your little ones will also have the chance to meet Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men. A unique space where both adults and children are sure to have an unforgettable time.
Don't let the cold stop you! Make the most of your visit to the Catalan capital with accommodation at the Barcelona Pere Tarrés Youth Hostel, and spend a unique, special time at some of the city's best ice rinks.
