Total time: 2 h.

The Colina de Galzeran, known also as the Hill of Mates or also, locally, as the Telegraph, is famous for its slim fire-watch tower. From the hill we can see a panoramic view of the whole area - this is where the towns of Alella, Tiana and Martorelles de Dalt meet. There is a geodesic monolith that was used in 1794 to measure the meridian from Dunkirk to Barcelona that served to determine the length of the metre. It was used for the triangulation of the vertex formed by Matagalls, the Puig Rodò and the Colina de Galzeran.

Leave by the Collado de Montalegre pass northwards along the asphalted track that goes alongside the GR 92, passes in front of Mas Po-Canyadó and continues by the un-surfaced track. When you reach the crossing with the Carrer de les Aves Maries street, go straight on with a wall to your right. Further on, a track cuts off that goes down to the right, and then another continues straight on, with a large solitary pine on your right, and soon you find a track going up in a leftwards direction. Take a track that climbs steeply in the opposite direction (south), and after passing alongside a high voltage tower, turn northwards and look for the crest line, now towards the Colina de Galzeran. When you reach the next high voltage tower the track is flat. Now on your right a path rises straight towards the Colina de Galzeran. To get back, you can follow a path that goes down towards the Maresme area through some tree-strawberries. Once past these, the slope gets steeper, and the path becomes difficult. You then get to the track of the GR 92, and from here return by the track towards the Collado de Montalegre.
